Young people who attend after-school clubs run by YMCA Crewe can show their creative side thanks to a donation from Anwyl Homes. The house builder has awarded £390 of funding so the charity can purchase arts and crafts supplies for its after-school clubs on the Sherborne Estate. It’s one of the donations made from the £5,000 ‘Love from Anwyl’ funding pot to help local not-for-profit organisations close to its development at Alexandra Gardens, on Sydney Road. YMCA Crewe runs a programme of after school clubs and holiday activities, which are free to attend and open to all children aged 9-15. Lisa Cormack, fundraising and communications officer at YMCA Crewe, said:
“Our clubs provide a range of activities, support, games and crafts that ensure the children have regular contact with positive and fun people in a safe and relaxed environment. “We’re very grateful for Anwyl’s donation, which will ensure we have a £10 budget for each of the 39 sessions taking place this year.”
As a charity, the purchase of materials for the YMCA’s after school clubs is solely reliant on donations. Graeme Gibb, sales director for Anwyl Homes in Cheshire, said:
“The YMCA is doing wonderful work on the Sherborne Estate, engaging with young people in a really creative and positive way. We’re pleased to have been able to support this vital work through our Love from Anwyl fund in Crewe.”
Love From Anwyl is a voluntary scheme attached to new homes being built at Alexandra Gardens. It’s in addition to local investment agreed during the planning process. Anwyl’s new sales centre and show homes are now open on site. More information visit www.anwylhomes.co.uk/alexandra
