A Chester netball team is sporting a brand new kit thanks to a £1,000 donation from a local housebuilder.
A Chester netball team is sporting a brand new kit thanks to a £1,000 donation from a local housebuilder. NW Panthers Netball Club applied for a grant from Anwyl Homes’ ‘Love from Anwyl’ Chester fund. The club received £1,000 to cover the cost of new dresses for the under 11s.
Under 11s coach and club secretary Tracey Drury said: “We’re grateful to Anwyl for covering costs for new netball dresses for our six to 11 age group. We will now be able to support the kit requirements for even more young people who enjoy playing netball in Chester and the surrounding area. “Netball is a great way to make new friends and boost fitness, while having fun and we subside costs for as many players are we can.”
The under 11s age groups train at Blacon High School and include around 30 girls. Established in 2018, NW Panthers are one of the leading junior netball clubs in Chester. Its sister club is the successful New Zealand-based 'Baytex Panthers' who have developed many national and international players. The NW Panthers are now looking to replicate their success in Chester. The £1,000 donation is one of several grants distributed by Anwyl from its ‘Love from Anwyl’ funding pot to help local not-for-profit organisations close to its development at
Deva Green, Chester.
