We’ve welcomed the news that Ikea is coming to Greyhound Retail Park – and it’s created a “buzz” at our neighbouring development.
The Swedish furniture giant confirmed its new Chester store in April.
Our Deva Green development, just off Sealand Road, backs onto the site of the planned new store so residents of our new homes will be just a short walk away.
Graeme Gibb, sales director for Anwyl Homes Cheshire and North Wales, said: “Ikea is a huge name in retail. There’s a phenomenon known as the ‘anchor store effect’ or the ‘retail-led regeneration effect’ where the arrival of a large retailer can provide a boost to the local economy and surrounding property prices.
“We’re seeing excitement locally for the arrival of the new store and from people enquiring about our new homes. It’ll certainly be handy to have Ikea so nearby when our new homeowners are decorating!”
An opening date for Ikea’s Chester store has not yet been announced but it’s hoped it will be later this year.
We launched Deva Green, off Clifton Drive, in April 2022. We’re building a range of two, three and four-bedroom designs, with 104 of the 143 properties now sold and 84 homeowners already moved in.
Around the new properties, we’re creating green space for residents to enjoy and habitats for wildlife, including ponds and new areas of planting.

A range of three and four-bedroom homes are currently for sale. Prices start from £295,995 for a semi-detached, Bretton home with an open plan kitchen/diner and separate lounge, plus cloakroom, on the ground floor. Upstairs are three bedrooms, the main with an en-suite, and a family bathroom.
