Good causes supporting the wellbeing of Burscough residents or helping to make the area greener can apply for financial or practical help. Good causes supporting the wellbeing of Burscough residents or helping to make the area greener can apply for financial or practical help “Love From Anwyl”. Anwyl Homes Lancashire is reaching out to the community near to its Priory Gardens development, offering a pot of funding under the umbrella “ Love From Anwyl”. Individual grants of up to £2,000 are available but the homebuilder is keen to help lots of smaller projects, if possible, for maximum impact. Sales director for Anwyl Homes Lancashire Matthew Gould explained:
Part of being a thoughtful homebuilder means playing a role in shaping the future of the communities we’re building in. Our Love from Anwyl initiative is a way of giving back to the people of Burscough. We’re particularly keen to hear about projects supporting the emotional, physical or mental wellbeing of local residents, as well as plans to improve the local environment or boost sustainability. It could be anything from providing high-vis vests for a walk and talk group to helping improve access to a much-loved community space.
Along with financial grants, there’s also the chance to apply for practical support, in the shape of volunteer time or the donation of materials and resources.
We want to share the love as widely as possible by lending our support to as many projects as practical, Matthew added. We’re also happy to get involved physically ourselves and are open to suggestions of how we could volunteer our time. Within the business we have a range of different professional skills and even some ‘hidden talents’ that could be put to good use to help locally. We’re not afraid of getting our hands dirty, so may be able to help with gardening, painting or minor remedial works. We can offer talks to schools and youth groups, virtually or in person.
The Love From Anwyl Fund is attached to Priory Gardens, where Anwyl has planning consent to build 267 new homes. It’s a voluntary scheme, being offered in addition to local investment agreed during the planning process. For its part, Anwyl is helping ensure the development is kinder to the environment. Every home at Priory Gardens will include an electric vehicle charging point; while the wider development will feature several landscaped swales, ponds and wetland areas together with a new park and landscaped public open space.
