Fundraisers at a school in Burscough have reached their goal with help from Anwyl Homes. The homebuilder proved to be a good sport and neighbour, pitching in with a £1,000 donation to Lordsgate Primary School towards the cost of a multi-sports goal for the school playground. School PTFA chair Denise Fardella said:
We usually try and have one significant project a year that we raise funds for and had set a goal of raising £3,800 for a multi-sports goal. Thanks to Anwyl’s generosity we’ve reached our target and have had the equipment featuring a football net, basketball hoop and more, installed in the playground. It’s an amazing addition for the children, encouraging them to enjoy spending time outdoors, having fun and learning new skills. They’re using it to play sports during break times and practice more disciplined sports techniques in after school clubs.
Lordsgate Primary School is less than half a mile from Anwyl’s Priory Gardens development of three and four-bedroom family homes. Area sales manager Amy Houlihan said:
It’s important that children learn to lead active lifestyles from an early age and have the opportunity to try different sports. Children also learn important lifeskills such as teamwork through sport and we were happy to team up with the school to help them reach their fundraising goal. The multi-sports goal is a fantastic piece of kit, which helps save time and space as they don’t need to keep moving things around to accommodate different sports.
