Ellesmere Port provides a superb location and offers more ‘home’ for buyers’ money, according to one of the builders behind the town’s property boom. Anwyl Homes’ development on Rossbank Road - The Oaks at Rossbank - was highlighted in a [recent report on the town’s status as a ‘housing hotspot’](https://yourwestcheshire.co.uk/NewsArticle/%7BCC81E2D3-1EC5-41BB-8A45-8FB844BDD6C3%7D).
> Graeme Gibb, sales director for Anwyl Homes Cheshire and North Wales, said: “Ellesmere Port is a terrific place to live, particularly for young families whose budget will stretch further here compared to surrounding towns and cities. Our development has two primary schools rated ‘good’ by Ofsted nearby, as well as first class shopping facilities on the doorstep and a really dynamic community, with plenty of sports and social activities to choose from – which are just a few of the reasons families are flocking here. “Our three and four-bedroom homes have sold amazingly well at The Oaks at Rossbank. So much so that we currently only have a small number of detached four-bedroom homes available, which will be ready for homeowners to move into and be settled before Christmas.”
Since sales launched at the end of January, Anwyl has sold 21 of the 130 planned homes. Ellesmere Port also has the advantage of being more affordable than many surrounding places. According to Rightmove, properties in Ellesmere Port had an overall average price of £177,389 over the last year, up 3% on the previous year, while detached properties fetched £277,884 on average. This compares to nearby Chester where the average selling price was £283,539, (£413,571 for detached), Bebington with an average price of £206,577 (£307,950 for detached), and Frodsham, with an average price of £290,231 (£374,251 for detached). As well as the 130 private sale new homes, The Oaks at Rossbank will also feature a new multi-use games area, football pitch and areas of green open space to be enjoyed by residents.
> Graeme added: “Many of our homes are being reserved ‘off-plan’ as soon as they are released and we haven’t even opened our show homes yet, which are planned for the autumn. Our site manager recently won a Pride in the Job Quality award from the NHBC so buyers can be reassured as to the calibre of the development and our new homes.”
The new properties are located close to an array of amenities including local shops, The Ellesmere Port Sports Village, the fantastic green spaces at Rivacre Valley Country Park and the shopping and leisure attractions of Cheshire Oaks. It’s also perfect for commuters, just a short drive from junction 8 of the M53, within nine miles of Chester city centre and close to Overpool train station with regular trains to Liverpool in 38 minutes.
