A popular development in Holmes Chapel is now more than 60% complete with 81 new homes built and occupied.
Anwyl Homes has also sold 70% of the properties at Victoria Mills, which has proved popular since it launched in June 2021.
Once comPlete, the Macclesfield Road venture will feature 138 new homes in a range of styles, including two-bedroom bungalows, and two, three and four-bedroom houses.
Just 41 of the private sale homes are left to sell, meaning Anwyl has sold an average of three homes every month since going on sale.
Graeme Gibb, sales director for Anwyl Homes Cheshire and North Wales, put the site’s success down to its sought-after location and wide range of homes available.
He said: “Holmes Chapel is a well-liked village in a prime location. It’s commutable to a number of larger towns and cities, with our new homes at Victoria Mills within walking distance of the train station, plus local shops and schools.
“Our range of homes, including bungalows and two and three-storey homes, means the development appeals to a wide variety of purchasers from first-time buyers and professionals to larger families and downsizers, who may want to swap an older home for a brand new energy efficient property, with no maintenance and very little upkeep required.”
Victoria Mills includes a play area and areas of green open space for residents and the wider community to enjoy. A new pedestrian link from the development to the footpath on Eastgate Road provides easy access to the railway station and the centre of Holmes Chapel on foot.
Graeme added: “As a business, we’ve had a really positive start to the new year. Underlying demand for new homes is strong – they have particular appeal amid a climate of high fuel prices, due to their enhanced energy efficiency features.”
Two show homes are open at Victoria Mills. Their interiors give a nod to the site’s industrial past as a wallpaper factory, while two of the streets – George Jackson Avenue and James Walker Drive – are named after the founders of the Holmes Chapel Wall Paper Company, which originally occupied the land Anwyl is now developing. A third new road is called Henry Cotton Way in honour of legendary golfer Sir Thomas Henry Cotton, who lived in a house on the site as a young child.
Current prices at Victoria Mills are from £294,995, with incentives worth up to £16,000 available on selected plots.
Properties in demand include the three-bedroom, semi-detached Snowdon-style home, priced from £319,995.
Anwyl has opened a dressed view unit to showcase The Snowdon design, which spans three floors with a clever design to make the most of space. On the ground floor is a modern kitchen, dining and living area where everyone can gather together, and on the first floor, two bedrooms and a family bathroom.
The main bedroom suite is on the upper floor and boasts an en-suite shower room and a dressing room.
Graeme added: “This really is a versatile property; an ideal home perhaps for a couple starting out or for a family looking for a little more room. The ground floor layout features a generous open living space whether you’re cooking, eating or relaxing – and the double doors leading from the lounge to the rear garden bring the outdoors in and gives this home real depth.”
There are also two-bedroom Hawarden-style bungalows open to view, which are priced from £299,995.
The sales centre and show homes are open Thursday to Monday from 10 am to 5.30 pm. Call 01477 770996 to book an appointment or to find out more visit www.anwylhomes.co.uk/our-developments/victoria-mills.
