New homes in Winnington offer improved efficiency

Savvy buyers can enjoy lower bills thank to the increased energy efficiency in the latest phase of new homes in Winnington. Progress has been made in transforming part of the former Winnington Business Park site, off Winnington Avenue. Now known as Winnington Place, the majority of the 124 homes in the first phase have been sold, with only a small number still available. We have been collating a list of people interested in the second phase and have taken “ early bird” reservations from five eager buyers keen to secure their preferred property at the earliest opportunity.

Area sales manager Amy Houlihan said:

Winnington Place has grown in popularity as the new neighbourhood has taken shape. Many people are being spurred on by the chance to reduce their household bills by moving from an older property to an energy efficient new build home. Figures from the Home Builders Federation (HBF) show that those living in a new build house save more than £180 a month or £2,200 a year on their energy bills, compared with those living in older houses.
“We’ve increased the efficiency of our new homes on the second phase of Winnington Place, offering homeowners the potential to lower their bills even further. Our latest homes will include solar photovoltaic panels to reduce reliance on the grid by using renewable energy instead. This and a host of other features mean they should achieve the highest energy performance certification of ‘A’, making them among the most efficient homes available.”

The new phase of Winnington Place offers 87 private sale properties in a mix of three and four-bedroom designs. Homes available for early bird reservation include three-bedroom, three-storey Snowdon style properties, priced from £260,000, and the four-bedroom detached Farndon, priced from £340,000. Our thoughtful, forward-thinking approach embeds energy efficiency at the point of construction with features including high quality loft and wall insulation, energy efficient boilers, radiators and appliances, low energy lightbulbs and water efficient taps and showers. With the improved energy efficiency of our homes, it means they can potentially be purchased using “green mortgages”, which tend to offer better rates than standard mortgage products.

Our buyers can be linked with independent financial advisors, with access to the whole mortgage market, to help them identify the right finance option to enable them to purchase a new home. Located between Northwich and Hartford, Winnington is close to a variety of shops, restaurants and cafes, and an excellent choice of schools; and there are plenty of parks, woodlands and scenic walks to enjoy nearby. It also has excellent road links to the M56 and A556 making it ideal for commuters. The sales office and show homes at Winnington Place are open daily from 10am to 5.30pm.
