We’ve donated funds to the tune of £365 to a Flintshire school for new musical instruments.
Sandycroft CP School successfully applied to our ‘Love from Anwyl’ fund, set up to help the community around our Summers Bridge development in Deeside.
The money has been used to purchase a selection of instruments from tambourines, bells and maracas to electronic keyboards and drums, which will help the pupils develop their musical talents.
Teacher Jack Merrick said: “With these resources, we can create further opportunities for our children to explore music, which has been proven to improve self-confidence and their sense of achievement. It also furthers their collaboration skills and gives them future opportunities to perform within the community.
“We’re grateful to Anwyl for funding a range of instruments across the school from the percussion kits, which can be used by our early years department, to the keyboards, which will help our junior pupils build on their musical knowledge.
“Music is a great tool to help improve the wellbeing of pupils and can be an expressive outlet for those who struggle to communicate their emotions. It is also a great way of exploring cultures.”
Graeme Gibb, sales director for Anwyl Homes Cheshire and North Wales, said: “We’re so pleased we could help Sandycroft CP School to expand their musical offering. It’s great to see the pupils enjoying the new instruments already. Our Love from Anwyl funds are designed to help organisations at the heart of the communities in which we build and it’s wonderful to see the money being put to such a great use.”
Love From Anwyl is a voluntary scheme attached to the 183 homes we’re building at Summers Bridge. For more information see Summers Bridge
