With the sunshine peeping through, it's time to plan Easter celebrations with friends and family and we have some fantastic ideas to share.
As the weather improves and we’re seeing more sunshine, it’s time to plan Easter celebrations with friends and family. Whether you’re just going for a simple Easter egg hunt and a fabulous family lunch, or want full-on Easter decorations and crafts, here are some simple yet effective ideas for your home.
Flower finesse
Bring the outdoors indoors with some exuberant floral displays, using faux or real flowers. Wicker light shades can be transformed into faux flower displays, and the dining table can be scattered with pretty decorations. Tie ribbons around napkins and chair backs for added style, and garlands and paper fans will also add a pretty touch, whether it’s a tea party or family lunch.
Top Tip: Pipe cleaners are extremely useful for securing faux flowers, greenery and other decorative bits and bobs! [caption id="attachment_13699" align="alignnone" width="800"]

Colour of the season
Add just a touch of Easter to the dining table with some bunny napkins and a zesty yellow colour scheme. Bring out the best glassware, add some tea lights and fresh flowers and you’re ready to welcome guests for Easter lunch. Yellow is definitely one of the new favourite shades for spring and summer 2023; it's a great shade to add an uplifting feel to any room, whether it’s a citrus twist to a white or grey kitchen, or a splash of warm yellow to a living or dining room. Make your own wreath
Decorate the front door with a homemade Easter wreath — which could also be used as a table-top arrangement! Of course, it doesn’t have to be just for Easter, a spring/summery floral theme works as well. Use a rattan circular base, available from Hobbycraft, then add faux flowers and green stems – plus a few little eggs or chicks if you are going for an Easter theme. If you decide to use real greenery, keep it fresh by misting it with water every day or so. If you need a helping hand, Hobbycraft’s detailed

Decorative Fabric Eggs,

Time for gift giving
We should probably remember that Easter doesn’t have to be all about chocolate eggs as gifts — why not consider something a little more long-lasting and meaningful? Fabric-covered decorative hanging eggs can be suspended from a branch for an indoor display and used year after year. Or, if your houseplants are particularly vigorous and sturdy, try decorating the monstera or the strelitzia! These keepsake decorative eggs from
Sophie Allport are perfect for those who may have a new home to decorate!
Bunting and Easter baking
If you’ve baked a Simnel or other special cake for Easter, it deserves to be centre stage at some point during the celebrations! Raise it up on a cake stand, and add some other Easter table decorations, such as these napkins and honeycomb bunny, all from
Talking Tables. Handy with the sewing machine? Then running up a few lengths of bunting shouldn’t be too tricky. Bundles of patterned fabric squares (generally known as ‘fat quarters’ – because they measure 50cm square) are widely available on-line and sewing your own bunting is very satisfying – it’s quite straightforward to do and looks super effective.
