Denbighshire development scoops 'Best in Wales' award

A Rhuddlan development has been named the best high volume new housing development in the whole of Wales. A Rhuddlan development has been named the best high volume new housing development in the whole of Wales. Anwyl’s Parc Tirionfa scooped the prestigious title at the annual LABC Building Excellence Awards. The development will now go on to compete against 10 other regional winners for the title of ‘best in England and Wales’ in the same category at the national grand finals, held in London on January 27, 2023. Already one of Anwyl’s most successful developments in North Wales, the now complete Parc Tirionfa venture impressed LABC (Local Authority Building Control) judges.
Anwyl Homes site manager Bleddyn Jones, who has worked for Anwyl for five and a half years, ran the site alongside contracts manager John Wilson before the final phase was completed by Shane Crawford and Steve Parry. Bleddyn said: “It’s a real honour to hear our site has been named the best high volume new housing development in Wales. The whole team at Parc Tirionfa worked really well from start to finish, not just the site management team, but the architects, engineers and everyone else too. “The best part of our job is helping people to move in and providing them with a quality new home. It’s great to look back on the completed development and see how it has evolved into a vibrant community. This award is the icing on the cake.”
Anwyl Homes launched Parc Tirionfa in August 2019, having gained planning permission for the new homes in March of the same year. Parc Tirionfa closed its final chapter earlier this year when the final new home of more than 50 to be built was completed. The properties were delivered alongside a raft of community benefits. As well as providing almost £190,000 in community contributions towards local education and £38,000 towards improving neighbourhood open space, as part of the planning agreement, Anwyl also supported nearby primary school Ysgol y Castell – most recently donating nest boxes for the school grounds and providing funds for new outdoor wash basins. The LABC Building Excellence Awards Grand Finals 2022 take place on Friday, January 27, 2023 with a black tie ceremony at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, London.
