 New road names in Ellesmere Port will pay homage to historic local boats. New road names in Ellesmere Port will pay homage to historic local boats, Anwyl Homes has revealed as it celebrates making waves at the launch of its latest development. In honour of the town’s famous docks, the streets at The Oaks at Rossbank are being named after vessels that have been housed at the nearby [Boat Museum](https://eur01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fprotect-eu.mimecast.com%2Fs%2FCqYeCr9VzSxE6Mc733Oy%3Fdomain%3Dboatmuseum.org.uk%2F&data=04%7C01%7Camy.lloyd%40anwyl.co.uk%7C18904728a5dc49e651ce08d8f42068b2%7C49523901ac3d4fe3a74cd058f7315fed%7C0%7C0%7C637527767340107372%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=7fCx%2BnUikgy7TIQdK5z%2F2eo38JGUKsX8zaJIMvmdKBM%3D&reserved=0). These will include Kingfisher Street, Merlin Place, Bluebelle Drive and Serenity Avenue. It’s been smooth sailing for Anwyl so far since sales launched at the end of January, with over 60% of the first release of homes selling in just four weeks. Graeme Gibb, sales director for Anwyl Homes Cheshire and North Wales, said:
> Close to the banks of the River Mersey, Ellesmere Port is built on a strong maritime tradition. In fact, the first main street was Dock Street, so using the names of historic local boats to inspire our new street names at The Oaks at Rossbank is a fitting way to honour the town’s rich heritage.
Located off Rossbank Road, the new venture will include 130 new homes for private sale as well as a new multi-use games area, football pitch and areas of green open space to be enjoyed by residents. Graeme added:
> Those who have been harbouring dreams of a brand new home in Ellesmere Port will be pleased to hear we still have a number of properties for sale, despite most of our first wave of homes being reserved almost straight away.
The new properties are located close to an array of amenities including local shops, The Ellesmere Port Sports Village, the fantastic green spaces at Rivacre Valley Country Park and the shopping and leisure attractions of Cheshire Oaks. It’s also perfect for commuters, just a short drive from junction 8 of the M53, within nine miles of Chester city centre and close to Overpool train station with regular trains to Liverpool in 38 minutes. The first homes at The Oaks at Rossbank are due to be completed in late summer 2021 when show homes will also open. Current prices are from £202,995 for a semi-detached home with three bedrooms up to £292,995 for a four-bedroom detached home with an integral garage.
