Anwyl's New Homes will bring £1.2m Community Boost for Winnington

Plans for 250 new homes in Winnington near Northwich, with a circa £1.2 million contribution to improve local community facilities. Plans for 250 new homes, with a circa £1.2 million contribution to improve local community facilities including schools, healthcare, parks, play spaces, sports pitches and roads, will transform a former industrial site in Winnington, near Northwich. The development is the latest land acquisition by Anwyl Homes and forms part of a wider project that will create jobs and shape a community, with commercial space, retail units and a family pub/restaurant due to be provided alongside the homes. Anwyl has bought two parcels of land at the former Winnington Business Park site, off Winnington Avenue, from FI Real Estate Management. Anwyl’s new homes will sit alongside FI Real Estate’s planned commercial development, with the overall scheme replacing old industrial units that once accommodated the Avenue Engineering Park and an associated storage yard. Anwyl is preparing reserved matters applications that will bring approximately 250 new homes, already benefitting from outline consent.
John Grime, Anwyl Homes regional managing director, said: “Our new homes, along with the smaller, modern commercial and retail units planned by FI, will be far more appropriate to this location.  Our carefully crafted homes will help to facilitate the planned changes and provide a boost to the local housing supply. “They will also add to Anwyl’s continued growth in this, our 90 th anniversary year, and we’ll be making financial contributions to education, healthcare, highways, parks, play spaces and sports pitches. These will be worth around £1.2 million in total, depending on the final number of homes, including almost half a million pounds towards local education provision.”
Anwyl’s new site borders the existing Moss Farm sports complex, which is home to Northwich Rugby and Cricket Clubs, Cheshire Gymnastics, all-weather football pitches and the Cheshire FA’s current headquarters. The popular Northwich town centre is within easy reach, Greenbank Station is around a 10-minute walk away for services to Manchester and Chester, and there are good road links to the M56 and A556 making it a great base for those who work in Manchester, Warrington or Chester. Anwyl is planning a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom properties, including detached, semi-detached and mews styles, as well as some apartments.
“Winnington is a very accessible, sustainable location, with excellent amenities close by. Indeed, it has become an aspirational and very popular place to live and is perfect for our family-orientated new homes,” John added. “There will also be an array of properties ideal for first time buyers and we’ll be including around 15% affordable housing to help meet local housing needs.”
Subject to detailed planning consent, Anwyl hopes to begin construction work this summer, with a view to having homes on sale and show homes open by autumn, with the first homes being occupied by spring 2021. Development will be phased over three to four years. Potential purchasers can register their interest by calling 03300 415 461 or see www.anwylhomes.co.uk/winningtonplace for further information
