Anwyl gearing up to start Burscough homes

267 new homes at coming soon to to Priory Gardens at Yew Tree Park, in Burscough. Anwyl Homes is gearing up to start work on its first new homes development in West Lancashire following planning approval for 267 new homes at Yew Tree Park, in Burscough. Construction will begin this summer and the first homes will be released for sale later this year, with the first residents moving in mid-2021. Anwyl’s new development will be named Priory Gardens and will include a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes, including some bungalows. There will be 94 affordable homes provided as part of the development. Every home will include an electric vehicle charging point and the development will feature several landscaped swales, ponds and wetland areas together with a new park and landscaped public open space.
John Grime, managing director of Chorley-based Anwyl Homes (Lancashire), said: “Having acquired circa 20 acres at Yew Tree Park from Crompton Property Developments Limited earlier this year, we’re pleased that West Lancashire Council has now given reserved matters approval for our homes and we are looking forward to getting on site. “Approximately halfway between Preston and Liverpool, Burscough is a thriving community with shops, schools and services, including Burscough Wharf with its eateries, arts centre and artisan market. Ormskirk is only a few minutes’ drive away, offering an even wider choice for shopping and leisure. “There are also two train stations locally providing direct services to Preston in less than 30 minutes, Manchester in around an hour, and via Ormskirk for Liverpool in circa 50 minutes. It really is a great location.”
The wider Yew Tree Park development, of which Priory Gardens forms part, will eventually comprise 580 homes, a care home, community centre and parkland. There are also plans for retail and industrial units, including a soft play centre and the new neighbourhood includes a potential school site. “We’ll have homes for a wide range of customers, from first time buyers to growing families who need more living space and those who want to downsize while still enjoying plenty of comfort,” John added. “Anwyl’s reputation for thoughtful design and excellent craftsmanship will be evident throughout the development and home owners will benefit from a careful balance of open plan living and separate spaces for privacy.  There will also be Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) broadband, making it easier and more efficient to work from home, and properties will have that all-important private outdoor space that we all value so much more since the Covid lockdown.” Approval for the Burscough homes comes only two weeks after Anwyl commenced construction at Lawrence Gardens, in Barton, near Preston, and brings the number of sites in the Preston travel-to-work area to four, including new homes at Bluebell Meadows, Fulwood and Stonebridge Fold, in Longridge. When combined with existing outlets in Prescot, St Helens and Bowring Park, this latest development also creates a cluster of sites less than 40 minutes’ drive from Liverpool. The new Burscough homes will go on sale later this year, initially off-plan, with fully furnished show homes due to open in spring 2021.
