Promotions at Anwyl Homes Lancashire

Two Anwyl Homes Lancashire employees have been promoted. Two Anwyl Homes Lancashire employees have been promoted. Daniel Owens has stepped up to commercial director, while Dean Trainor has been appointed as senior engineering manager for the Buckshaw Village based business. It’s the second promotion in less than 12 months for Daniel, who took on the role of head of commercial in the summer. Daniel, who joined Anwyl in 2021, has over 16 years’ experience. He previously studied for a HNC qualification at the University of Salford and became a quantity surveyor, rising to the role of group surveying manager, servicing different Barratt housing operations across the UK.
The biggest challenge we’ve seen over the last 12 months has been the increasing cost of materials. Some of this has slowed down, but there is still some volatility with certain items like plastics, Daniel explained. We’re continuing to work with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure we achieve best value. We’ve been working with suppliers to prepare for our first site to start under Part L Building Regulations, Whittle Brook Park in South Heywood. It’s required a slightly different strategy to our traditional approach to ensure we meet the new regulations. All 120 homes across the development will feature solar panels and we’ve been working closely with suppliers to prepare for this.
For Dean, it’s a third promotion since during Anwyl five years ago. He joined the company as an engineer in November 2017, was promoted to senior engineer in December 2018, engineering manager in June 2021 and more recently was appointed senior engineering manager in recognition of his hard work and dedication.
My role is to oversee the engineering side of the technical department. The engineers deal with the project management of civil engineering operations, including the roads and sewers, in the early stages of a development and see that through to the completion of the development, Dean explained. Every site has different challenges and opportunities and it’s good to be able to call on past experiences to tackle issues. Being able to apply that skill set is what I relish about my position. Dean, 35, from Bolton added: I feel very valued at Anwyl. There’s a great family ethos about the company right from the owners and the board down to the people working on site. It’s very easy to remain motivated working for a good company and there are great opportunities with Anwyl for people who work hard.
Dean started his career in the construction industry as an apprentice bricklayer before studying architectural technology at the University of Bolton. He was a CAD technician before taking on engineering roles with Redrow, Taylor Wimpey and Rowland before joining Anwyl.
Managing director of Anwyl Homes Lancashire John Grime said: At Anwyl we’re committed to helping our workforce develop and progress up the career ladder. There are lots of exciting, challenging and rewarding careers within the housebuilding and construction industries. Daniel and Dean’s promotions are very much deserved and recognise the dedication, skills and experience they’ve both displayed.
