Cosy up in an a energy efficient new home in Heywood this winter

NEW homes in Heywood score top marks for energy efficiency, with the potential for buyers to save almost £2,000 a year.

We’re highlighting the potential savings available to buyers at its Whittle Brook Park development, where homes are among the most efficient available.

Features including air source heat pumps and solar panels, plus electric vehicle charging points, help them achieve the highest Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of A.

Area sales manager Amy Houlihan explained: “Only around 5% of older properties score the same EPC rating as our new homes in Heywood and to reach that level it’s likely they’ll need lots of work doing to them, which could be costly. In contrast, we’re offering the chance to move into a new home that’s among the most energy efficient available and uses the latest technology.

Feedback from our homeowners is that having solar panels and an electric vehicle charging point were among the reasons they chose to live here. They can control the air source heat pump via an app, with the ability to personalise the comfort by setting climates for each room and to review their energy consumption to help keep track of bills."

“Having moved from older properties, buyers tell us their new homes are a lot warmer, and they’ve seen a difference in their bills too. This reinforces the latest research from the HBF which shows buyers can save more than £1,980* a year on their energy bills in a new house compared to an older property.”

The homes include wider cavities to external walls and improved air tightness, which provides increased levels of insulation and reduces heat loss, along with increased levels of ground floor and roof / loft insulation. Energy efficient light fittings are included throughout, as are water efficient fixtures and fittings to help reduce water usage.

Whittle Brook Park offers a choice of three, four and five-bedroom homes, with current prices from £289,995 to £600,995.

Selected properties are available to purchase with Own New Rate Reducer, which gives buyers access to lower rate mortgages for the initial loan term.

The energy efficient features mean the homes qualify for “green mortgages”, available from selected lenders. We can put buyers in touch with independent financial advisors with access to the whole mortgage market to help them access the best mortgage products and rates available.

We’re building 120 new homes across almost 15 acres of land on Manchester Road in Heywood, as part of the wider West Hopwood scheme. Once complete, the new neighbourhood will comprise around 1,000 new homes, plus a range of local amenities.

Show homes at Whittle Brook Park are open daily. For more information call 01706 438110 or see www.anwylhomes.co.uk/whittle.
