A completed housing development in Longridge has brought more than £630,000 in investment in the local area.
The 7.7 acre site on Whittingham Road was the second parcel of land acquired by our Lancashire business.
We secured reserved matters consent for the 83-home development in October 2018. Work started the following year, and sales at Stonebridge Fold launched in summer 2020, having been delayed by the pandemic.
Regional managing director John Grime said: “Stonebridge Fold was the second site we acquired following the formation of the Lancashire business and where we welcomed our 500th homeowner during our fifth anniversary year.
“During the construction phase it's supported dozens of jobs both on site and in the supply chain. Linked to the planning consent we contributed more than £630,000 towards local facilities, via a Community Infrastructure Levy, helping ensure the growth of the neighbourhood is sustainable.”
Barnacre Road Primary School and Nursery, which is close to Stonebridge Fold, received £1,000 to help improve its outdoor space via a voluntary funding scheme we offered.
“The Ribble Valley often features in guides to the best places to live and the location, along with the thoughtful design of our homes, played a part in the popularity of the development. Over the course of the last five years, as people have moved in, Stonebridge Fold has developed into a thriving new neighbourhood. We recently sold the last home and will soon be completing the final surfacing works to the roads,” John added
“Along with the direct support the development has provided to the wider area through our investment, there will be ongoing benefits to the local economy. For example, residents of the new homes in Longridge will support local businesses including nearby shops and cafes. Plus, the local authority will have an increase in revenue to support public services in the area thanks to council tax paid by our homeowners.”
Headquartered at Buckshaw Village, our Lancashire business operates across the county and in Greater Manchester, the Liverpool City Region and parts of Cheshire.
In Lancashire our developments include Parr Meadows, Eccleston, where the final home is now on sale, and Priory Gardens in Burscough. Work is underway at Walkers Glade in Ingol, where homes are due to be released for sale in 2026.
“We’re active in the land market and keen to acquire new sites across the North West to contribute towards Government targets of building 370,000 homes a year,” John added.
