Shavington Scouts successfully pitch for tent funding

Group of Scout members

Memebers of a Cheshire Scout group will enjoy even more camping adventures thanks to a £500 donation from our Love From Anwyl Shavington fund.

The 12th South West Cheshire (Shavington) Scout Group has used the funds to buy new tents.

With almost 50 members, aged between six and 14, the group goes on regular camping trips, helping children develop confidence, teamwork, and practical life skills.

Jen Wilkinson, group lead volunteer, said: “Camping is an important part of our Scouting programme and gives our young members skills for life. Modern tents have a limited lifespan so we’re always in need of new equipment and grateful to Anwyl for this generous donation. It will allow us to replace some of our older tents and ensure our members can continue to enjoy safe, comfortable and exciting camping experiences.”

Phoebe Davies, head of regional marketing for Anwyl Homes, said: “Scouting offers so many valuable experiences for young people, helping them grow into confident and responsible members of their communities. We’re delighted to support the 12th South West Cheshire Scout Group as part of our Love From Anwyl initiative and to help ensure local children can continue to enjoy outdoor adventures.”

The donation was made as part of the £5,000 Love From Anwyl Shavington fund, linked to our Queen’s Meadow development on Newcastle Road. The fund has already supported a range of local causes including Shavington Primary School, Shavington Academy, Wybunbury Anglers’ Association and Shavington cum Gresty Parish Council.

The Love From Anwyl initiative is in addition to the almost £600,000 in community contributions we’ve already pledged for Queen’s Meadow as part of the planning agreements, covering areas such as recreation, education, healthcare and community facilities.
