Land Acquired in Nantwich From Muller Property Group

Work has started on 40 new homes in Nantwich. We recently acquired a site, off Peter De Stapleigh Way, Stapeley, from Muller Property Group. Known as Weaver Forge, it’s part of the wider Maylands Park mixed-use development.

Mathew Tudor-Owen, land director at Anwyl Homes Cheshire and North Wales, said: “We’re pleased to have acquired three acres of land in Nantwich from Muller Property Group, having worked closely with them to navigate through the planning process.

“Together with land we’ve previously acquired from Muller Property Group in Crewe and Sandbach, it will strengthen our development pipeline and reinforce our commitment to delivering high quality homes in wellconnected, popular locations. We’re looking forward to delivering new homes that will bring investment and longterm benefits to the area.”

Colin Muller, founder and chief executive of Muller Property Group, said: “While there is a clear and pressing need for new homes in Nantwich, securing consent for this site has required considerable time, investment and persistence.

“Throughout the planning process we worked proactively to demonstrate how this development could make a meaningful contribution to the area’s housing supply, including much-needed affordable homes, alongside significant financial contributions towards local services.

“This scheme will not only help address housing demand but also deliver tangible benefits for the wider community through investment in education, healthcare and recreation.

“We are pleased to have brought the site forward to this stage and look forward to seeing high-quality new homes delivered for local people. Positive collaboration and a shared focus on meeting housing need is always the best way to achieve sustainable growth.”

We will invest more than £275,000 in the local area in the form of section 106 contributions, agreed during the planning process.

This includes almost £110,000 allocated for secondary education; a special educational needs contribution of around £75,000; more than £56,000 for recreation and outdoor sport facilities; with £36,000-plus for healthcare.

The development name Weaver Forge gives a nod to the nearby River Weaver, which played a key role in Nantwich’s trade and salt industry, with “Forge” reflecting the town’s industrial history.

Weaver Forge will offer 40 new homes, ranging from one-bedroom apartments to four-bedroom detached family homes.

“The housing mix has been planned to ensure we meet the diverse needs of the local community,” Mathew added.

“Along with homes for private sale, 30% of the development will be designated as affordable housing.”

Homes at Weaver Forge will be launched remotely from our Elmy Fields development in Congleton on Saturday, April 25, with the first properties expected to be ready to move into later this year.
