Graeme Gibb, sales director for Anwyl Homes in North Wales, said:
“We’re inviting homebuyers to join us for a fun-filled, yet informative evening where with the help of experts we’ll be dispelling some of the myths around home buying and mortgage availability. An independent financial advisor and our homes advisors will be able to explain about low-deposit routes to homeownership, including Help to Buy Wales, which offers the chance to secure a new home with just a 5% deposit.
“We want to provide a relaxed and informal setting, where people can learn about their options and potentially meet the people who could be their future neighbours.”
Under the Help to Buy Wales scheme, first time buyers and existing homeowners, can take out an equity loan for up to 20% of the purchase price, interest free for five years. They then only need a 5% deposit plus a mortgage from their lender of choice to cover the remaining 75%.
Anwyl is building 183 new homes at Summer Bridge, as part of the wider redevelopment of the former RAF Sealand site in Deeside, known as The Airfields. For its part, Anwyl is delivering a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes. Current availability within the threshold for Help to Buy Wales includes a choice of three-bedroom semi-detached and detached homes, priced from £249,995 to £299,995.
The current phase of Parc Aberkinsey will eventually feature just over 100 homes in total, in a choice of one to five-bedroom designs. Current availability within the threshold for Help to Buy Wales includes a choice of two and three-bedroom homes, priced from £209,995 to £241,995.
Help to Buy Wales is only available on new build homes with an Energy Performance Certificate rating of B. All new Anwyl homes achieve this, making them among the most efficient available. Latest figures from the Home Builders Federation (HBF) show that those living in a new build house save more than £180 a month on their energy bills, compared with those living in older houses, with a potential annual saving of £2,200.
