The streets of Chorlton will be looking even more welcoming during a spring arts festival thanks to our Love from Anwyl fund.
The Chorlton Civic Society has used funding to purchase new bunting to be displayed throughout the village during the Chorlton Arts Festival, taking place from May 8th to 21st.
The colourful displays will help build excitement and enhance the sense of community pride that the event has long inspired.
Held every spring, the Chorlton Arts Festival is one of the area’s most significant cultural celebrations. In 2025, the festival hosted 162 events across 52 venues, offering residents and visitors everything from live music and visual arts to theatre workshops and family activities.
The investment has enabled organisers to replace worn-out bunting and increase the number of decorations displayed across the neighbourhood.
Carolyn Kagan, secretary of Chorlton Civic Society and chair of the Chorlton Arts Festival, said: “The bunting adds colour and gaiety to streets and venues across Chorlton, helping create a joyful atmosphere that invites people to take part. We’re grateful for Anwyl’s support in helping us deliver an experience for residents and visitors alike, which enhances wellbeing and fosters local community pride.”
Love from Anwyl Chorlton is a £5,000 voluntary community fund made available to local charities and community groups as part of our Dalton Fields development off Wilbraham Road.
Phoebe Davies, head of regional marketing at Anwyl Homes, said: “Now that our first homeowners have moved into Dalton Fields, it’s important that we give something back locally. Our fund was launched to support projects that make a positive difference in the area. The Chorlton Arts Festival is a wonderful celebration of creativity and community spirit, and we’re proud that our contribution will help enhance the atmosphere for everyone who takes part.”
