# Anwyl not pulling punches when it comes to Community support
12 Jul 2022 [Amy Lloyd](https://blog.anwylhomes.co.uk/blog/author/amy-lloyd)
Holmes Chapel Boxing Foundation has received a knockout £1,000 funding hit from housebuilder Anwyl Homes to deliver free coaching sessions. Holmes Chapel Boxing Foundation has received a knockout £1,000 funding hit from housebuilder Anwyl Homes to deliver free coaching sessions for local school pupils. Building at the nearby Victoria Mills development, Anwyl provided the cash to its neighbours at the Holmes Chapel Boxing Club, which was created four years ago as part of a community initiative to tackle anti-social behaviour. James Rice, trustee and volunteer coach at the club said: “As an England affiliated boxing club we offer wide opportunities for coaching, training and competition, though we’ve always reached out to partners to help deliver more community-based activity. We continue to work in partnership with local schools, the NHS, local business and other stakeholders.
> “As a registered charity, our ultimate goal is to create, through boxing, a positive impact on the physical and mental wellbeing of our community. The sport helps build, especially in younger people, confidence, self-respect, and control as well as fitness. Our membership is mostly younger people from the local area though we deliver many more community sessions for older adults, mums, girls, and local schools. This autumn will see our first NHS funded men’s mental health programme in partnership with Cheshire East social prescribers. “It’s really great when the community can come together in partnership, as Anwyl and Holmes Chapel Boxing Club have done, and create a fully-funded 10-week programme for local school kids this autumn.”
Holmes Chapel Boxing Club located in Station Yard is affiliated to England Boxing and offers coaching and training opportunities for all. See [www.boxingchapel.co.uk](http://www.boxingchapel.co.uk/) to find out more. The £1,000 donation is one of several grants distributed by Anwyl from its ‘Love from Anwyl’ funding pot to help local not-for-profit organisations close to its development at Victoria Mills, on Macclesfield Road.
> Sales director for Anwyl Homes Graeme Gibb explained: “The Holmes Chapel Boxing Foundation is such a worthy recipient of our ‘Love from Anwyl’ funding. When we heard about the support they were offering to the local high school, we felt it would be a real privilege to be involved. It’s great to see local organisations working together for a common goal and I’ve no doubt the students who take part in the programme will benefit hugely from James and his team’s encouragement.”
Love From Anwyl is a voluntary scheme attached to 138 new homes being built at Victoria Mills, where two brand new show homes are now open to view. It’s in addition to local investment agreed during the planning process. See [www.anwyl.co.uk/victoriamills](https://www.anwylhomes.co.uk/our-developments/victoria-mills/) to find out more.
